Working with wood is an extremely delicate and intense process.
Your average homeowner does not have the skills/time to undergo
such a project. 

My only concern of wood type roofs, or shake roofs, is that 
they do not last as long at asphalt type roofs.

I always advise my clients when undergoing a project such as

		<description>Shingle and shake roofs definitely require the experience of a professional roofing contractor in order to have them installed properly. 

Although they do look very nice, there is usually a lot of maintenance that comes with shake roofs.</description>
